DC Does Caribbean: Carnivale Workshop Video Review

Some of you know me personally and know that I am trying to lose the ridiculous amount of weight I gained with this last baby (yes last has a double meaning here).  The struggle is so real.  So I have made it my business to find the most challenging, engaging, exciting, calorie blasting, fun fitness classes in the DMV.  And by golly I think I hit the mother load (is that a real saying? I think I got it wrong).  The Caribbean Dance Carnival class at Jordin’s Paradise is freaking epic!!!! It is not only everything listed above but it is also super informative.  One of the helpful things  I learned was  the reason I have always had a problem doing Samba is because the count is 1..2..3.. instead of 1..2..3..4 like I am accustomed to.  The two instructors’ balance each other out.  Chandra is more fluid and sensual and  Petra is more high energy and commanding.  Between the two of them,  They have performed in every Carnival in the world!!!! What a feat.  Well check out the video and see what you think.  The next class is April 25.

  1. Sounds fun.. you should definitely come out and try my class.. and also may have an opportunity for you to attend the conference in DC in June.. I believe they are looking for bloggers still to come and provide feedback.. not sure if they have to be fitness bloggers.. I’ll check again and put you in contact if you are interested!

    • I will definitely check out one if your classes. Let me check your schedule. And I would live to attend the conference. We can chat when I come to your class! Thanks I am excited!

  2. Great write up! Now THIS looks like a very entertaining fitness program. By your own personal account (and clearly judging from the young ladies in the video) it was very much a festive and enjoyable time. Then again, that’s the embodiment of carnival.

Kudos to the young ladies who put this workshop together. I will definitely have to inform some of my DC connects who are into fitness about this workshop. I think this may be right up their alley. Just in time for summer.
